Seaplanes have intrigued me since my first flight that my grandfather set me up with Helm Air Service up in the Adirondacks NY.

I wanted to jump right in and start with seaplane operations but traditional thought is that you always go for landbased and then go advanced to seaplane. I was on the traditional route as recommended and went solo at 17 but with motivation to serve our country I joined the U.S. Navy as a Naval Aircrewman and finished my Private license on my first duty station at Barbers Point, Hawaii. Flight school was Eveland Aero right on Lagoon road next to the nose docks from the old PBY Catalina's. 

Retired as a Senior Chief Petty Officer with a final tour on active duty at SERE School at Kittery Maine.

 

Presidential Seaplanes is teamed with EPIC Seaplane Adventures, Low Altitude Adventures, and Eastern Slopes Aviation Academy. I am a Icon A5 approved approved Flight Instructor, Tailwheel Instructor, assist Epic with scenic seaplane flights in the area as well as offering advanced amphibian training in the C-180. Restoration is underway on BUNO 37729 1943 J4F-2 Grumman Widgeon that served in Europe during WWII. When completed she will serve again in some capacity, even if it is just to recruit more seaplane lovers. Primary Flight training at Eastern Slopes Aviation Academy at KIZG, Fryburge Maine in either a C-150 or the brand new Vashon Ranger.
